hello i am trying to install CME 10.5 on an old ISR C881V..  i've installed

c880voice-universalk9-mz.154-3.M10.bin and

cisco-config-pro-exp-admin-k9-3_5_3-en.zip so now i can access the CCP admin page on the router at https://192.168.1.1/flash:ccpexp/html/ccpExpress.html

how to install the CME 10.5 software?  this cucme manual says to download the components from http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/ip-iostsp but that site is no longer available.

is this the right fileset ? how to install it .. just xtract to flash same as i did for ccp express? https://software.cisco.com/download/home/277641082/type/282786567/release/10.5

That file set is for enabling the CME GUI which only allows you to configure SCCP phones. So if you have SIP phones, you can skip copying that tar file and activating the GUI on the CME.

For configuring the router as CME, you need to activate the advanced enterprise licensing package on the router.

thanks .. this thread from 2013 references https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-26706 but i get "access denied" error on that url .. and the same thread says:

The SL license for the UC technology package (of which CME-SRST is part) is a paper PAK enclosed in an unsealed envelope. It is a piece of paper that Cisco charges $350 list price for. The UC technology package on the 881-v platform is part of Advanced IP Services and is not enforceable in this platform. I did not have to generate a license with the paper PAK. In fact, the paper PAK has no number on it that could be used to generate a license. The CME-SRST feature works out of the box as long as Advanced IP Services IOS image is running on the router.

so CME is not included in advanced ip services? must i purchase the SL-8XX-UC-K9" paper pack?  how to link this router to my smartnet cisco account?

Router#show license

What IOS version are you running on that router? Is this the universalk9?

yes:  c880voice-universalk9-mz.154-3.M10.bin

maybe i can install the CME 12.3 full set instead of just CME 10.5 GUI? but the router reports:

c881v#sh telephony-service
CONFIG (Version=10.5)
=====================
Version 10.5
Max phoneload sccp version 17
Max dspfarm sccp version 18

The CME version is 10.5 so you should be using the complete set for CME 10.5.
What's the output when you run this command under global config?
Router(config)#license boot suite ?
Also, what are you trying to achieve with the complete set of packages?

c881v>en
Password:
c881v#config t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
c881v(config)#license boot suite ?
% Unrecognized command

my goal is to provision 7945 wireline and 8211 wireless (fast track) phones, and configure the router for sip trunk primary access and FXO backup.  where can i find the complete file set for CME 10.5?  all i could find for 10.5 is the GUI:

https://software.cisco.com/download/home/277641082/type/282786567/release/10.5
CME 10.5 file set
CME_GUI_10.5.tar

0.79 MB

The locale files are present here: https://software.cisco.com/download/home/277641082/type/282897001/release/10.5
That's pretty much it.

thanks .. i extracted my locale files from the tar to flash but still no access to CME. it should be accessible from http://router/cme.html ?  that gives 404 not found.  but i can access http://router/flash:ccpexp/html/ccpExpress.html .. what am i missing?

c881v#archive tar /xtract tftp://192.168.1.100/CME-locale-en_US-English-10.5.3.0.tar flash:/
