Hi team,
Yesterday, I have upgraded the version of our Call manager express from 8.6 to 9.0. Then, I have observed that the GUI functionality stopped working even though the required configuration and GUI files are in place. The GUI (http://<CME IP>/ccme.html) was taking credentials and just displaying a blank page (I am using IE 9). Then, I have read that CME 9.0 needs the command "file privilege 0" for enabling GUI. After I added this command, GUI was working. I was able to login as admin and normal Extension mobility (EM) user and see the existing configuration, but could not make any changes to the CME configuration via GUI.
I am not able to update/add/delete any configuration as both EM user or as admin. Nothing is happening after I say Save (I am not even getting any error). For example, in admin mode, if I click on Administration-> Save Router Config, nothing is happening, even Logout is not working. This is not AAA issue as I have already removed the command "aaa authorization config-commands".
Could you please let me know how to fix this? With CME 8.6, complete GUI functionality was working fine.
I have configured the following commands on the device:
ip http server
ip http path flash0:
ip http authentication local
telephony-service
web admin system name xxx password xxx
dn-webedit
time-webedit
Also, I have copied the following files to flash0:
CME_GUI_README.TXT Delete.gif Tab.gif admin_user.js downarrow.gif logohome.gif normal_user.js telephony_service.html xml-test.html CiscoLogo.gif Plus.gif admin_user.html dom.js ephone_admin.html normal_user.html sxiconad.gif uparrow.gif xml.template

Which browser are you using? Try Firefox.

I am using IE 9. Same behaviour/issue with Firefox as well.

Hi,
I am using CME 9.1 but still the same.
Any solution?
Thank you.

I have exactly the same issue. Gui works, authenticates, reads everything - but no changes can be made.
I have upgraded the GUI files in flash, even removed and re-added the 'ip http path flash:/gui'. The files in the /gui folder are directly from the cme-152-2Tv1 download.
Checking a 'debug ip http url' I can see the files being picked up and set to the client. I am using ie9 as well,

I can login and authenticate OK. But I too cannot make any changes in the gui.
Of interest, in the gui, when I go Help/About I see that the GUI is 8.0.0.0 rather than the 9.0 that I thought it would read based on my download - and I've suspected all along that this has something to do with it.
I am wondering if this a dud CME GUI download release, just like jumping from IOS 15.2(2)T1 to 15.2(3)T results in CME reverting from 9.0 back to 8.8.

Hey Luke,
I believe this is a Bug CSCtz35753
Issue only happens to CME 9.0 IOS versions (15.2.x) When GUI is configured using the GUI files downloaded from CCO, any changes made on the GUI cannot be saved. The HTTP code in CME 9.0 has been changed from CME 8.6.
Hope this helps.

Yep. Just found that myself and was coming back here to report it.
It has been suggested I downgrade to 15.2(2)T.
And this after I had already backed out from 15.2(3)T because of the CME 8.8 issue.
What's going on Cisco?

I ask that myself since 20 years now. Then I learned that the answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind.

The issue seems to be with the 15.2(2)T1 and above . The 15.2.(2)T id working fine would be great if you could check the same out.
Should have a fix soon for it.

Kevin

When I upgraded my CUCME to 9, my GUI stopped working also. The TAC engineer who advised I upgrade also made the 15.2 GUI files available for me to upload, and ever since then the GUI has been working.
Did you upgrade your GUI files after the CUCME upgrade?

Hi Tony,
could you provide us the CME GUI files for 15.2 which you get from the TAC?
06-17-2012 11:13 PM
yeah i have loaded the new GUI files to the flash
the uploaded files were extracted from cme-152-2Tv1.zip file which is the CME 9.0 complete support file set.
After adding "file privilage 0" command, GUI is working. I was able to login as admin and normal Extension mobility (EM) user and see the existing configuration, but could not make any changes to the CME configuration via GUI.
