CME and Unity Connection intergration

Hi there,

I am intergrating a Unity Connection server with my current Cisco CME which sits on an ISR 2801. I have managed to get the voicemail working, my next step is to get AutoAttendant moved from Unity Express to Unity Connection.

Is this possible and would I set this up the same way I did with voicemail?

Thank you,

Dmitry

In Unity Connection you build auto attendants via call handlers, which is a lot easier than CUE as you don't need to build any scripts.

HTH,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks but that doesn't really answer my question. I wanted to know how to intergrate it? Do I follow the same steps when I do the voicemail, apart from changing to different extensions.. or?

Ta

You said you already integrated the systems for voicemail, you will use the same integration and all you will need to do on CME is to build a dial-peer that matches the AA pilot and point it to the UCXN server.

Like Chris said you would need to create Call Handlers. I don't know what version you have but here's a link for CUC 8.X on creating Call Handlers.

Thanks but say my voicemail is 1601, when I dial that, it works fine. I set up 1301 as my AA number. When I dial this number, it does not work - gives me a busy tone.

Please post your CME config, did you assign 1301 as the DN of the call handler?

What are you seeing on port monitor which you can obtain from ciscounitytools.com?

Chris

My ports:

This is my CME config:

I will download the monitor and take a look.

You would need to forward the 1301 to the VM Pilot.

HTH Regards, Yosh

I was more interested in dial-peers than the port as they reveal nothing. Did you look at the call in call monitor tool?

How is the call handler configured?

Chris

Oh okay, so do I not need to have the 1301 extension and I can just use 1601?

I have nothing set in dial-peers as my intergration is SCCP. At the moment my Unity Express takes the calls on 1300 extensions.

Got the monitor working, says nothing when I dial 1301. Works okay wioth 1601.

Also, only one port seems to work... stramge. My licence does allow me up to 8.

You need to add the IP address of the client (latop or computer) you are using to the allowed list in CUC. In CUC Administration go to System Settings>Advanced>Conversation and under "IP Addresses Allowed To Connect For Port Status Monitor Output" type your IP Address.

HTH Regards, Yosh

You probably have your voicemail line group in CUCM set to top\down which is why you only see 1 port being used.

HTH Regards, Yosh

In my UC i have them on preferences. If I call 1601 and my colleague does too then he gets a busy tone. Perhaps I am not doing something right here?
