Hi All,

I have Cisco Call Manager Express and Nevotek Server for Voice Mail.

Scenario: PSTN/Internal -->Reception Phone 1 ( Rings 4 ) --> Call Forward Busy/NO Answer -->Recpetion Phone 2 ( Rings 4) -> Go to Voice Mail of Reception Phone 2.

Problem : When we are dialing from PSTN/Internal it rings at Phone 1 then Phone 2 but it is going to Voice Mail of Phone1.As per Scenario we need it at Phone 2 Voice Mail.

Please advice.

Hi Shobhit,

This will be something that needs to be configured on the

Nevotek voicemail system as CME is doing it's job properly here.

Most voicemail systems use the "originally dialed number" to route calls

to the proper mailbox, in this case that would be phone 1/2001. In systems

like CUE or Unity Connection you can change the system to use the

"last redirecting number" which in this case would be phone 2/2002.

You will need to look for this setting in the Nevotek system

Cheers!

Hi Rob

Thanks for your reply !!

But Nevotek system is getting called Number as 2001 for their Voice Mail in their logs.

Is there any way if we can change it called number to 2002 as it forwarded from 2001 in CME??

Appreciate your help..

Hi Shobhit,

First off, you are most welcome my friend

The problem here is that 2001 "is" the called number. On all voicemail systems

that I've seen or worked with, the way to "fix' this is always done by a configuration

change on the voicemail system not the Call control system (CME in this example).

I can't find any Nevotek config guides online or I would be happy to help you look

for what needs to be tweaked here.

Cheers!

Hi Rob,

Is there any way that we can use hunt group for this case?

I tried to create a hunt group and place these two extensions in it, but still no luck..

I used a translation rule for incoming calls to go to 5000 instead of 2001

ephone-hunt 1 sequential

Pilot 5000

List 2001,2002

timeout 10,10

Can we do something with hunt groups?

Hi Shobhit,

The use of a Hunt set up will just transfer the problem to a different

"Called" number. Does the Nevotek have any place where you can configure

an "Alternate" extension under the 2002 mailbox.

This would be where you can have another called number like 2001

built as an Alternate number under 2002?

Cheers!

Rob

PS: you might be able to try the "Final" command under the Hunt to Final 2002
