CME Dial Out 8 and Extensions 8xx

Hello Community,

We're hoping to get some input on this... even if it is bad news . So our phone system is press 8 to dial out. Then we also have extensions that start with 8, ie 812. So the problem becomes when people dial into our office and our nice receptionist attempts to transfer them *back out, she gets a fast busy when she pressed 8, 1 and the first digit of the area code. We think it's because the system thinks she's transfering to a local extension and since it doesn't exist she gets a fast busy. Our we doomed in our design or is there a way to work around this where we can keep both 8xx extensions AND dial out by 8.

Thanks!

Hi,

Could you share the config from your cme router "show run"

.

Your design of the numbering scheme is somewhat complicated by using 8 for pstn breakout and internal extns.

Alex.
