Hello,
I swear I have seen a Netpro post or bug ID on this issue but my search has come up empty. Customer is running CME 8.5 on 2821 and I configured the ephone IDs to match the last two digits of the person's extension. Some of these ephone ID numbers are past the max-ephone count number, which is 58 on the 2821. Any ephone ID that is past the max-ephone count number, so anything 59 to 99 are unable to be managed via CME GUI. This is posing a huge problem for the customer as they are not conformatble with CLI.
Thanks,
Dan

You can us arbitrary numbering on dial peers, but I have never heard of or seen the ability to do it on ephone's or ephone-dn's.
Certainly understand what your customer wants to do and why, but I think you're finding that it's simply not supported.

Here's the Bug-ID
Three workarounds
1) Use CLI
2) Try Cisco Configuration Professional http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps9422/index.html
3) Use ephone no. less that max-ephone.
