CME Hunt Group - final voicemail

Hi guys,

here is a short CME hunt group config:

voice hunt-group 1 parallel

pilot 100

list 200, 300

timeout 20

final 4000

Users 200 and 300 have their own Mailboxes.

4000 is a separate Voicemail.

How do the users know that someone has left a message on 4000?

Thanks.

Best regards

Cristian,

You will need to configure a GDM to achieve this. According to Unity Express design Guide from this doc

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity_exp/design/design21/cuevmdes.html#wp1013248

MWI for GDMs

Any phone with a button appearance of the extension associated with the group receives MWI for message content in the GDM. This configuration is shown in Figure 26. The customer-service GDM extension (1050) appears on button 2 of group member User2 U2's phone (extension 1001).

That suggests that you need to do the ff:

1. Configure a GDM

2. Assign the enxtensions 200,300 to the GDM

3. Assign the number of the GDM to an available button of these phones

Then you will need to change your hunt list config as ff:

voice hunt-group 1 parallel

pilot 100

list 200, 300

timeout 20

final 54000  (54000 will be your GDM number)

Then you need to ocnfigure this

ephone-dn x

number 54000

call-forward all 4000 (assuming 4000 is your VM pilot)

So when the call goes to VM for extension 54000, all the users in that mailbox will be notified.

That what I could think of

A better and simpler way to do this is using a shared line.

That will also support MWI and avoid the complication of GDM.

The message will be left for 100.

4000 is supposed to be your VM number.

from what I've understood is so:

When callers dial extension 100, extensions 200 and 300 ring simultaneously.

if none of the extensions answer, the call is forwarded to extension 4000, which is the number for the voice-mail service.

how are the user notified that someone has left a message? supposing no one answers.

the system is a CME/CUE 9.0/8.6.4.

Thanks.

Cristian,

Its been a while I did this, but from my old notes I came up with this..Try and see if it works

Add extensions 200 and 300 as the e164 number for extension 100.

sorry but I can't see where you're going. I think I wasn't clear enough.

what I'd like to do is: when someone calls 100 both phones should ring simultaneously. if no one answers, the call should go to a "generic" voicemail box. (not the users own mailboxes).

the question is: how can the users be notified that someone has left a message for that "generic" mailbox?

Thanks.

do you mean?

voice hunt-group 1 parallel

pilot 100

list 200, 300

timeout 20

final 4000

ephone-dn 1

number 200

ephone-dn 2

number 4000

call-forward all 5555 -> voicemail

ephone 1

button 1:1 2:2

Thanks.

No. You can search for shared line to learn what it is.

Paolo's suggestion is that dont use hunt group. Configure your pilot number as a shared line on the two extensions.
