At one of our regional offices, we've deployed CME with with our end users using 7965's. They've been complaining about the ringing in their ears from the handset while speaking with customers. Is it possible to configure CME so that the LED for the lines on the IP phone will light up but remain silent (for additional incoming calls) while they are talking to someone on the phone, and only audibly ring when they are not on an active call?

Hello
under phone configuration for button configuration under ephone use "S" instead of ":" , you can do the below:-
ephone 1
button 1s1 /s—Silent ring. Audible ring and call-waiting beep are suppressed for incoming calls.
Visible cues are the same as those described for a normal ring/

Thanks Islam,
Would the phone still ring once the handset is placed back on the hook?

Seems like 'call-waiting ring' has configured under ephone-dn, so remove it or change it to beep.
