Hi all. We have some Cyberdata SIP Intercoms (call boxes) which are working fine on our CME ISR version 8.8 running (C2951-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 15.2(1)T. We would like to put all of them in a common paging group. We have multicast paging working through the SCCP phones as well as MOH. Multicast is enabled on the Cyberdata units with the IP specified in CME below:
ephone-dn 83
number 798
name Outside Page
paging ip 239.10.16.6 port 2000
If I call 798, the line rings once and connects, but I don't get any audio through the Cyberdata units - they don't acutally answer the call. All devices are in the Voice VLAN 10.50.10.x so it shouldn't be a multicast routing issue.
If anyone has any experience with this your ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jason

Hello, did you have any joy resolving this issue, we are having exactly the same problem with the Cyberdata Intercoms.
Also - did you have any problems with the Intecoms re-registering at frequent intervals ?
Thanks

Hey Lee. I opened a TAC case and here is the final response:
"I have done extensive research regarding your request and unfortunately, this is not currently supported on SIP CME. You can always ask your Cisco Account Team to file a PER (Product Enhancement Request) so that our developers can evaluate such request and hopefully include it in future releases."
Bummer.
As far as re-registering, yes I have seen that on a couple of the units. Not all of them, but a couple. Also, I can't get more than 9 to register at any given time. I have a TAC case open on this as well. How many units do you have connected to your CME? All of ours are running 6.1 firmware BTW.

Just a note that may help someone else out. We were unable to get more than 9 of the Cyberdata intercoms to register simultaneously. We could get an x-lite softphone to register as a 10th device, but not another intercom. After working with TAC, they found that:
"...analysis shows problem lies in the third-party SIP phone, it is not sending correct header formats as per RFC starting the 10th phone, hence not registering with CME. We checked xlite registration trace as the 10th phone, and it sends correct register header information, and hence it will register correctly. This again, indicate the problem lies in the Cyberdata SIP endpoints. Please contact third party sip vendor as to why it sends incorrect header formats from the 10th phone."
At which point we referred the issue to Cyberdata. From Cyberdata support:
"There is a known issue with the random number generator seed. On
Cisco systems, this type of behavior can happen when one intercom is
using the same call ID that another is using in a registration attempt.
To rectify this issue, we have implemented a fix that is currently in
the beta stage. We would greatly appreciate if you would try this
firmware and let us know if you can register more than 9 intercoms
simultaneously on your system.
You're welcome to download our beta firmware, version 6.2.2b01, from
our FTP site"
The beta firmware fixed the issue and all is well.
