Conference Now Issues - CUCM v11.0.1.21900-11

Hi All,

We are experiencing some issues with Conference Now feature in CUCM v11.0.1.21900-11. According Cisco Documentation, when a End User A has configured as a host of a Conference Now and has associated his Device and assigned as a Primary Extension and then another User B calls to Conference Now (as a first participant of the conference) associated to End User A, Device's User A will host the Conference with its MRGL.

Our issue is that when User B calls to Conference Now (as a first participant of the conference) associated to End User A, Device's User B hosts the Conference with its MRGL.

Problem here is that MRGL for Device's User B only permit one conference with 8 participants and MRGL for Device's User A has more resources for conferences.

CUCM v11.0.1.21900-11

Thanks for your help and Regards.

JM

It appears to work as designed, as the first participant establishes the conference and thus CFB via it's MRGL-->MRG gets used.  You can add secondary MRG to phone_B MRGL with redundant CFBs .

Whoever enters the PIN number that caller is the host. Your other participants can join before or after the conference starts (PIN is entered) and will not be in a bridge until the host joins.  Sounds to me like your participants were entering the PIN rather than waiting for the host to do so.

Thanks for your answer Chris,

Just to understand the following:

The host (End User) provides the Meeting Number, Time slot, and Attendees Access Code to all the participants. The host requires a PIN to join the conference, but the participants do not require it. If a participant dials into the meeting before the host, the participant hears Music on Hold (MOH).

After the host enters both Meeting Number and PIN correctly, a conference bridge is allocated based on the MRGL (Media Resource Group List) of the host. Participants who join before the start of the meeting are redirected to the same conference bridge.

Is the first participant the host? or the End User that provide the Conference Now info is the host?

Thanks again
