Dear Support Team,
I have to setup an E1 on a router to enable me route voice calls to the PSTN how can i achieve that.
a. can i use the normal ethernet RJ45 cable for the E1 connection ?

You ca use the RJ45 cable.

For the configuration part, you need to first decide the protocol (H323/MGCP).

+5 for Sambit for good answer. In addition RJ45 is OK for straight through E1/T1 cable as the pinouts are the same, however if you need to use cross-over then you cannot use RJ45 Ethernet crossover and need to use RJ48 where pin 1 is crossed with 4, and 2 is crossed with 5.

What are you trying to configure ? I mean E1 PRI or E1 CAS ?
