configure FAX with SPA122 and over MGCP GW

Hi,

i'm trying to send/receive fax using spa122 but it fail.

our call path -

FAX machine--->SPA122--->CUCM--(mgcp)->2921---> fxo--->PSTN direct line

does it required any specific configuration than default mgcp configuration on router and fxo port configuration on cucm ?

Hi Frank,

SPA122 only supports the following fax protocols:

Fax pass-through using G.711

T.38 fax relay

I am not sure what you have configured on your Gateway, please make sure that you add the following commands on the gateway.

mgcp modem passthrough voip mode nse

mgcp modem passthrough voip codec g711ulaw

Hi Amit,

now incoming fax is working having issue with send fax. I cant even dial to particular number from cucm extension may be issue is with the outgoing dial-peer assign to the voice-port

Hi Frank,

These FXO ports should be controlled by CUCM using MGCP or you are using these gateway using any other protocol(SIP/H323).

If we are using MGCP, then please check the route patten through which you are sending the call out to the Gateway.

Hi Amit,

Route pattern configured with specific number (021248454) that i want to dial via FXO port and pointed to FXO port as gateway.

when i dial to that number it will generate busy tone call route to the GW but not going through FXO port

Hi Frank,

If MGCP controlled, please collect the following logs from gateway for a test call.

debug mgcp packets

debug vpm signal.

If this is controlled by any other protocol, please collect the following:

debug voip ccapi inout

debug vpm signal
