Configuring the intercom feature in cucm

Hello everybody,

I am trying to determine if its possible to set up 1 dedicated deskphone

that has the privilege / access to use the intercom function to make announcements to all the other desk-phones in the building.

All the other deskphones in the building should only being to receive one way audio without the option to make announcements themselves.

i figured you can use partitions / css to grant these permissions but im not exactly how this should be configured or if this can even be done since you cannot share intercom lines with more than one phone.

Intercom is 1:1, what you want is paging, and for that, you need to install informacast or a 3rd party paging option.

Jaime is correct, with recent versions of CUCM you can get Basic Paging feature at no charge (OEM from InformaCast developer Singlewire), but that supported only 50 phones per recipient group, for anything above that you will need InformaCast Advanced Notification:

They also now have Fusion edition which allows the administration to be in the cloud.
