Contacts not available on Cisco CP-9951

Hello,

We are unable to use the contacts function on the Cisco CP-9951 phones. So if we press the contacts button it just outputs to the screen "Contacts not available". We use a VOIP server that is based on asterisk. And the CP-9951 run on the latest SIP image.

We have configured in the SEP<MAC>.cnf.xml files that the phone has to get the directory.xml file like following:

<directoryURL>http://<ip-address>/directory.xml</directoryURL>

But the phones do not even hit that address when the contacts button is pressed on the CP-9951 We have confirmed that by monitoring the apache access.log.

The weird thing is that if I put the exact same URL between the <servicesURL> tags it does hit the apache server.

Can somebody help us?

Thanks in advance.

Greetings,

The phone’s default behavior for some of these services is to contact the CUCM server to which it is registered. This affords a degree of resiliency without needing a load balancer. You’ll need to disable this behavior with the <provisioning>1</provisioning> element.
