In our environment, we use our own Directory and disable the built-in Cisco Corporate Directory (by unchecking the "Enable" option of the Corporate Directory), as our CUCM is integrated with regional LDAP, and our own Directory is a global one. Problem is: we still see the Corporate Directory when using the 8941 phones.
Is it a normal behavior? and how can we force those phones to use our Directory?
Interesting! That behavior would imply a bug on CUCM's part. The phone doesn't know about the directories inherently, CUCM must return that as an option on the either in the configuration file (internal or both) or the HTTP response (external). So it appears that CUCM is not respecting the "enabled" checkbox for a SIP phone.
It appears there is a precedence for this type of bug as CSCso96536 sound very similar. I would delete the built-in directory service so there is no record for CUCM to return. If that fails somehow it's time to call TAC.
