Corporate Directory key disappears from ip phones

Hi all.

We have this annoying problem, Corporate Directory key disappears from ip phones, randomly.

We have CUCM 6.1.3.3000-1 and different types of ip phones (7911, 7912, 7940, 7941, 7960, 7961), and problem happens randomly on different phones.

Key is present in all phones, but sometimes, in differente phones, disappear; if I reset the phone, it reappears.

Configuration is correct:

URL Directories    http://192.168.1.7:8080/ccmcip/xmldirectory.jsp

and also on ip phones with problem, I can see proper configuration.

Any idea to solve this problem?

Thanks

Daniele

You should take a sniffer from the back of the phone to see the traffic. Once you hit the directories button it should fire of an http request to that service. I'm assuming the phone may have problems reaching the location (and potentially caching that faillure).

Thanks for your reply.

Problem occurs randomly on many different ip phones (30 phones at today) and disappear at phone reboot.

There are no connectivity problems between phone and CCM (co acl or firewall at all), and all other phone functions work properly (also calls).

So this problem happens only since few weeks, call manager is active since 3 years.

Thanks for any other suggestions.

noone has this problem?

Hello,

As already bvanturn has pointed out it is probable that the directory service returning list of directories is having problem to answer all http requests. And since the phones may remember that there was a problem when asking last time, they do not reask until restart.

You should try to request the url in a PC browser repeatedly to see if it is true that some requests do not return valid response. If so it may be a high load problem or another network related problem.
