Good Afternoon,
One of the departments in our hospital is wanting a Cisco CP-8841 telephone on the second floor of their building. The network switches on that floor are not ready to support VOIP yet but the ones on the 14th floor are. Does anyone know the maximum data cable distance from a switch port that a CP-8841 phone with no computer can tolerate? If necessary, we can use a power cube instead of POE.
Thanks
Dale Shew

Hello daleshew517
You probably need to use power adapter but to answer you primary question distance requirement by the Ethernet Specification, the maximum cable length between IP Phone and the switch should not be more than 100 meter. I hope this answer your query.
