CP - 8851 add to CUCM 9.1.1.20000-5

Hi team,

We have a CP-8851 and we want it to add to CUCM, reviewing in "CUCM - Default Device" see that this phone is not included.

And when we review the download software "Device Package" in Cisco, we see that the latest version is for CUCM 9.1 (2), reviewing the historical software "Device Package" we see that the CP-8851 device is not included in CUCM version 9.1.1.

We have to upgrade to CUCM version 9.1 (2) SU5 - "UCSInstall_UCOS_9.1.2.15900-7.sgn.iso" before installing the Device Package - "cmterm-devicepack9.1.2.16140-1.cop.sgn" ?

Device Package for CUCM:

Historical Device Package for CUCM:

Thanks & Regards,

Juan Miguel Huertas Alegre

Hi Juan Miguel,

Your thinking is spot on here!

There are no Dev packs for CUCM 9.1.1 that would add support for the 8851's so your first necessary step would be to upgrade CUCM to 9.1.2. If you upgrade to 9.1.2su5 you would already have a baseline support for the 8851 (it would show in the Device Defaults) with the built-in firmware of 11-0-1 as shown below as this CUCM release came out in April of 2016;

Then, as you nicely noted, the installation of the latest Dev Pack 9.1(2)(16140-1) would add the latest firmware for the 8851's which is 11-5-x. This would include a number of bug fixes and enhancements for the 88xx and other models so it's an excellent idea.

Cheers!
