CSS cannot reach the partition?

Hi everybody,

I have a question about CSS and partition ....

Here is the enviornment

PSTN ---- VG(H323) ------ CUCM

CUCM 9.1.1

H.323 gateway 2951

Partition in CUCM

- PartitionA

- PartitionB

CSS in CUCM

- CSS_weak contains (PartitionA)

- CSS_strong contains (ParitionA and ParitionB)

IP phone 8961 contains

- DN 101 in (PartitionA)

- DN 202 in (PartitionB)

Voice Gateway's "Call Routing Information - Inbound Calls" CSS is

- assigned "CSS_strong" already

The problem is

if an external call from PSTN to DN 101 works fine,

but when the external call from PSTN to DN 202 fail

I have checked the VG debug, and the external call has been transfered to CUCM already

Anybody know what's the possible problem here? or i miss some configuration?

Hi Sam,

the configuration looks good. A couple of checks that can be done before looking into callmanager traces are:

1) assign the same CSS - "CSS_strong" to an IP phone and try calling extension 202 to see if it works.

2) Check for any unassigned DN 202 under Route plan report that may have a different partition.

It looks good, id check the route plan to make sure theres nothing else, if not, CUCM traces

Are u able to call internally to 202 extension ?

Just create 303 with CSS_strong , internally call to 202 extension is working fine

Check if there is anything diff ( like codec ) in the dial-peer config for the two extensions on the gateway, 1 am assuming u have two dial peers, one with 1.. and other with 2.. destination pattern. If that is good, try restarting the ccm service on callmanager.

In addition to good tips from Mr. Manish[+5], are u using DID i.e. DID numbers assigned on DNs provided by SP.

Both dial-peer are using Codec 711

I have tried to put 202 into PartitionA

External call via PSTN to 202 is working fine

but if move the 202 back to PartitionB,

the PSTN call to 202 is failed

that's why I think the call route from VG to CUCM should be fine ...

Suspecting the dial plan setting in CUCM has problem ...

Hi Sam,

Try restarting the ccm service on callmanager to clear any database issues. If the issue persists i would suggest opening a TAC case with detailed ccm traces for a good call ( with partitionA assigned to 202 ) and bad call (

with partitionB assigned to 202 ) to investigate further.

Hi Sam.
Can you do a test for us?
Try to create a new CSS eg. From-VG
-put into this css both Partition-A and B
-assign this css to inbound calls on gateway config.
-reset the gateway.

check if you can call both partitions from outside

Did you receive a message or busy tone? Could you share a "show dialplan number 202" from VG and a screenshot of route plan report searching DN 202 from CUCM.
