Hello,
i have MGCP gateway which is registered to call manager 7.1.3 and this gateway is connected to Nortel PABX through PRI (Qsiq). This PABX is having Nortel phones. On my CUCM I have internal phones with partition. i created CSS having the partition phones. My phones can call each other and can call to PSTN.
My is is that calls comming from PSTN and from PABX are not reaching Cisco phones which seems that the CSS under the MGCP gateway is not working. note that if i remove the partition from my phones i can receive calls. Also i tested the gateway with H323 and it is working fine.
My issue is similar of what was mentioned in a previous post (link below). It look like it is a common problem.
Any ideas please.

Hi Ibrahim,
Post the screen shot of the MGCP gateway config as well as the CSS configuration page, with the route plan report.
Also post ISDN q931 with the called and calling party numbers.
It would be great if you can post a call manager trace for the same call.
Thanks

Did you click 'reset gateway' after changing the CSS on the gateway, so that the CM DB is updated with the new CSS?
You can get a details CM trace and search for dd="5555" replacing 5555 with the dialed number. Around there you will see pss="partition1, partition2,etc" which is a list of the partitions in the CSS which CM has as the active CSS for the calling device.

Hi,
thanks for the reply. You are right it look like it was related to the reseting of MGCP endpoints. but i have a concern about the behaviour:
I have phones with different route patterns and some are with none route pattern. Also i have CSS including all the partitions.
if the MGCP gateway is having none CSS, it can call all the phones with different route partitions
example: extension 1000 (partition IT)
extension 1000 (NONE partition)
extension 1001 (partition HR)
extension 1002 (partition ACC)
if MGCP endpoint with NONE CSS, then any call comming from Nortel system can call extension 1000 with the NONE partition plus extension 1001 and 1002
If MGCP endpoint with CSS containing all partitions then any call comming from Nortel system can call extension 1000 in the IT partition plus extension 1001 and 1002
is this behaviour Normal? how can the call reach phones in partitions and the MGCP endpoints are with NONE CSS? What if i want to limit the calls to specific partitions (under specific CSS)?
regards,
Ibrahim

That's not normal it sound like others have said that something wasn't updated correctly and you'd be able to see this by looking at a CallManager trace set to detailed.
