I remember reading somewhere that CTI Route Point can not terminate/answer a call. It passes the call on to a CTI Port where the call gets answered.
Is it true?
The Cisco document I am reading says otherwise or I did not understand correctly.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/5_0_1/ccmsys/a08cti.html
Any insight is much appreciated.

Hello,
Yes , it is true , every CTI route should have a group of CTI Ports s when the call hits the CTI Route point , it will check for available CTI Ports and forward the call to it.
Just out of curiosity , are you talking about UCCX or something else ?

What you said, "I remember reading somewhere that CTI Route Point can not terminate/answer a call" is absolutely correct. CTI ports can terminate audio, meaning something can be played to the caller (a recorded message, MoH, etc) from the CTI port. A CTI RP is strictly for forwarding purposes (forwarding includes forwarding to applications in contact center it's called a trigger).

thank you for your reply.
Cisco description on CTI Route point was a little confusing. Just wanted to confirm it.
