CTI server is offline

Hi folks,

I'm working on an IP telephony network with about a dozen phones, mainly 7911 and 7961.  The CM is a 2801 running 12.4(11)XW6, with CME 4.2(0).  Inbound calls to one number are auto attended with the option to speak to a member of staff.  If this option is used, the call is passed to a phone that has been logged in using the globe button.  A MCS7816 running Windows which claims a Cisco OS image of 2003.1.2a acts as the authentication server for the phones to login.

Recently and for no apparent reason, the phones have started reporting 'The Cisco CTI server is offline' when a login attempt is made.  I can connect to the MCS Windows server on port 6293 using telnet and the HTTP server responds when I send it some keystrokes.

All the Cisco services are marked as 'Started', so I am at a bit of a loss about how to restore the CTI function or find out what's causing the issue.

Please could anyone advise?

Many thanks,

Philip
