I was testing codec translation feature of CUBE, but couldn't get it worked.
Here's the call flow:
IP Phone (5001) --> CUCM (as OGW) --> Gatekeeper (HQ-RTR) --> CUBE (HQ-RTR) --> CME (BR2-RTR, as TGW) --> IP Phone (3001).
The symptom was: 5001 can ring 3001. When 3001 answers, 5001 keeps playing ring-back for a couple seconds, then the call got disconnected. "debug voip ccapi inout" shows the cause code was 47 (resource not available).
On CUBE, the incoming call leg was G.729, outgoing call leg was G.711. I configured xcoder on CUBE.
When the call was ringing, I saw this on HQ-RTR:
HQ-RTR#sh gatek call
Total number of active calls = 2.

the config looks fine to me, have to unticked 'wait for far end h.245 terminal
capability set' under the trunk?

That was it!
Any further documents explain why this needs to be unchecked?
Thank you again!

glad to be of help.
Check this link out for more information, its basically a stale mate between cucm and cme as they are both waiting for the h245 phase of the call setup which occurs after the call is actually setup, the calls then just times out.
