CUBE media forking and transcoding

Gordon Ross

I'm using CUBE to perform media forking for call recording. Our call recorder can only handle G.711 but calls can come in with other codecs (e.g G.722 or G.729)

I've tried configuring a transcoder on CUBE, but I still get the error:

%VOICE_IEC-3-GW: SIP: Internal Error (200, codec mismatch): IEC=1.1.278.7.106.1.....

Does CUBE actually support transcoding for forked call legs?

Thanks,

Gordon.

But a transcoder can translate between a-Law & u-Law....

if it is in the transcode profile, which above, it is not. you need to add ulaw.

dspfarm profile 2 transcode universal
 codec g729abr8
 codec g729ar8
 codec g711alaw
 codec g729r8
 codec g722-64
 maximum sessions 4
 associate application CUBE

seems like you are missing some things in the debugs. I am only seeing the bye to the recorder, I don't see the initial invite.

can you post or PM me the full CUBE config?

Steve

You're doing a couple things on this list in your config

Restrictions for Network-Based Recording
* Network-based recording is not supported for the following calls:
* Calls that do not use Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). Must be a SIP-to-SIP call flow
* Flow-around calls
* Session Description Protocol (SDP) pass-through calls
* Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) loopback calls
* High-density transcoder calls
* IPv6-to-IPv6 calls
* IPv6-to-IPv4 calls with IPv4 endpoint.
* Secure Real-time Transport Protocol (SRTP) passthrough calls
* SRTP-RTP calls with forking for SRTP leg (forking is supported for the RTP leg)
* Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP)
* Multicast music on hold (MOH)

Not doing that.

Flow-around calls

Not doing that

Session Description Protocol (SDP) pass-through calls

Not doing that.

Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) loopback calls

Not doing that (as it was removed from IOS a while ago)

High-density transcoder calls

Don't think I'm doing that

IPv6-to-IPv6 calls

Not doing that

IPv6-to-IPv4 calls with IPv4 endpoint.

Not doing that

Secure Real-time Transport Protocol (SRTP) passthrough calls

Not doing that

SRTP-RTP calls with forking for SRTP leg (forking is supported for the RTP leg)

Not doing that

Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP)

Not doing that

Multicast music on hold (MOH)

Not doing that.
