is there a option to see a device if off hook in a BLF? Currently we have BLF for the primary DN but it does not show "Off Hook" when on a line appearance other than the DN.

Have you tried a BLF SD key and then just assigning the extension you want to see status on? 

This assumes that you have the correct CSS or subscribe setup

The boss has a primary DN and another DN (group line).

the secretary has a BLF of the bosses primary and of the DN group LINE.

if the boss is on the group DN Group line, she cannot see him using that line.

Normal phone systems can see a device off hook, when a device is off hook.
