I was able to get the PLAR to work on the 6921, 7942, 7962, 7965 and 7975, without any problems. We have a CUCM 11.5 and starting to use the 78XX and 88XX phones. I was able to get the 8851 to work after setting up the SIP Dial Rule, but I cannot get it to work on the 7821, 7841 or the 7861. Is there a extera step I need to do for the 78XX phones?

I have found what the problem was. When building the SIP Dial Rules. On the Pattern Information, you DO NOT click "Add Pattern", you click "Add Plar" This was not pointed out to me. I had to find this out on my own.

No, both should work. Both are SIP phones.

I have followed the steps, but when I come off hook with the PLAR DN, it just gives me dial tone. It does not follow the Calling Search Space of the DN. I have made sure I have the SIP Dial Rules set to the button the PLAR is on. It's like it doesn't recognize anything I put in the DN Calling Search Space. I have even changed the Calling Search Space to other Calling Search Spaces, it doesn't recognize any of them.

Is says "The directory number CSS takes precedence over the device CSS." This is not happening.

The CSS should normally be put on the device, not on the directory number. Test to clear out any CSS on the DN level and make sure the correct one is set on the device, then restart the device for it to load the new configuration.

I need DN #1 to call where ever I want And DN #2 to FLAR. DN #2 has to have a different CSS than DN #1.

In that case make sure that you do not have any CSS set on the device and just have it set on the DNs. However I'm a little doubtful that it will actually work on this model as it could be that it has a slightly different behavior than other models.

Yeah, I already tried that, didn't work

Does it work if you have the CSS only set on the device? Worth checking regardless of other factors you might want to way in for functions like multiple directory numbers with different use cases. Keep things simple just for the sake of troubleshooting.

I changed the Device CSS to none. "When set to <none>, Unified CM uses the device mobility calling search space, which is configured on the device pool". I also set that to none. I could now set the DN CSS to anything I want and it works, except for FLAR (HotDial). I went back to check the PLAR, it works on the 6912, 7942, 7962, 7965, 7975 and the 88XX, but not the 78XX. I deleted the SIP Dial Rule and rebuilt it, it still doesn't work. I press the #2 button on the 7821 and I get dial tone. It does not auto dial 116800. Attached is how I have everything configured.

Yes, the 8851 I setup in the same way works just fine.

I also updated the 7821, 7841 and the 7861 to the latest firmware 14-2-1. Did not fix the problem. There must be something about the 78XX phones that is not allowing the PLAR to work. Any Ideas?????

I will check this on my lab and will update you by tomorrow.
