We have two license questions:
1) If we have an 8841 phone that takes up an Enhanced license and then delete the phone from CallManager, does the license get added back to the available licenses?
2) We have several vg224's and believe that each port takes up a Basic license. If we shut the voice port, will the license get added back to the available licenses? If we delete the port, will the license get added back to the available licenses?
1) If we have an 8841 phone that takes up an Enhanced license and then delete the phone from CallManager, does the license get added back to the available licenses? -YES, please not that the licenses are paired as number of devices associated to a single user,
2) We have several vg224's and believe that each port takes up a Basic license. If we shut the voice port, will the license get added back to the available licenses? -MOST LIKELY NOT, you would need to check to see if once you shut the port on the VG, the port actually disappears as a device in CUCM
If we delete the port, will the license get added back to the available licenses? -YES

Just to add, you might need to do a synch in PLM and then update the license usage by navigating to System--> Licensing --> License usage report in CUCM and clicking on "update usage details" to see the license getting added back after deleting the device.
