CUCM 7.x Rebooting Subscriber whilst Publisher is offline

Hello

Does anyone know whether it is safe to reboot a subscriber whilst the publisher is offline. The situation is that the Publisher has suffered a hardware failure of some kind, probably it is the PSU that is broken.

All phones are currently registered to the Sub and I would like to shut that down and attempt to transfer the PSU from the Sub into the Pub. If this is not successful my concern is whether the Sub will startup OK with the Pub offline.

I read somewhere on older versions of CUCM (v4) that you cannot reboot the Sub whilst the Pub is down as it cannot start without being able to connect to a working Pub.

I am wondering if anyone has any experience of this and can confirm either way.

I haven't tried what you want to do, but I'm not 100% it will work.

From my experience of DB Replication, when a sub comes up, it wants to talk to the pub to make sure it's DB is up to date. If it can't talk to the pub, it won't be a happy SUB.
