CUCM 8.0(3) Modify PAI and Diversion Header for SIP Trunk

Hello,

we have CUCM8.0(3) with a SIP Trunk to our Provider. For outbound and inboud calls it works fine, but we have problems with call forwarding.

when the cucm sends an invite packet out to reach the call forward destination, it sends in the PAI Field the Number from the calling party and in the Diversion Header the internal Number from the ip phone that did the call forward.

Our Provider wants it like that:

Diversion Header = complete National Number with +49 oder 0049.

PAI = Diversion Header

i didn't find a way to manipulate the Diversion Field, is there one?

i testet to make the Line Number with 0049...and so on and it solves my problem, but as you perhaps know we do not have a fixed dial plan in Germany and so this is noch an option for us. we had to make several translations for every site and the phones and line are all importet since 2 weeks.

is there a way to fix this, someone from our sales department said that cisco told him half a year ago that this should work with cucm 8??

Unfortunately you cannot currently modify the Diversion Header.

You should be on the lookout for the CUCM 8.5 Release Notes when they post as you will find a helpful feature documented there.

and is there a way to say which number should be send in the PAI (P-Asserted-Identity)   ?

Isn't the intent of the P-Asserted-Identity field to display the calling party number in a trusted way?

From RFC 3325:

9.1 The P-Asserted-Identity Header

   The P-Asserted-Identity header field is used among trusted SIP
   entities (typically intermediaries) to carry the identity of the user
   sending a SIP message as it was verified by authentication.

I suppose the trick of it is how you determine the identify of the user sending the SIP message and how forwarding information comes into play with transfers and forwards.

Either way currently I don't know of a way to do anything but determine whether the PAI field is sent or not.   Look for a future release to help solve your problem.

well that's true, but our provider thinks that if a call is forwarded, the PAI Header should include the complete Number of the line / phone that did the call forwarding, not the number of the caller. and as i read the description from the RFC, the internal ip phone is much more "verified"
