No, DRS requires the exact same version, you can use BAT after massaging the data before the import in 10.5, or simply DRS on 8.1 on B series, and upgrade

java

if this helps, please rate

Could you please update more details about "BAT after massaging", how to download the user and MACID from the existing setup and upload in the new CUCM 10.5

Hi Bala,

Please check the attached procedure for using BAT.

Hi Bala,

BAT supports Import/Export between the same versions of Cisco Unified Communications Manager only.(link). Reason being the changes in tables in different versions.

Please follow the procedure below:

1. Check the version of CUCM installed "show version active" ex. 8.6.2.20000-2

2. Take the backup of all the servers after checking the replication status of the servers "utils dbreplication runtimestate" as 2.

3. Download ova from cisco.com and use bootable of the exact same version of 8.x in your UCS and install the servers(Do not change the information which is there in production servers else the backup restore is expected to fail or cause issues later)

Note: As the IP of the production and UCS-B series will be same, please make arrangements installing in a different environment and reachable to NTP

4. Once the servers are up, restore the backup taken from MCS servers on the UCS servers.

5. Reboot the cluster and check the database replication status.

Now once the hardware is changed you can follow the Upgrade path compatibility matrix link

Tirtha
