CUCM 8.1 in MCS Server, need to upgrade to CUCM 10.5 in B-Series Server

Customer is using CUCM 8.1 in MCS Server, need to upgrade to CUCM 10.5 in B-Series Server with same IP Phones.

Please advice can we install the new CUCM 10.5 and register old IP Phones.

or can we install the old CUCM 8.1 in B-Series server and use the backup, then upgrade the CUCM to latest version.

They have purchased new CUWL license, so no need to license migration.

Hi Balamurugan,

There are two options:

1. Install same version of 8.x on UCS with similar IP, hostname, security password etc and restore the DRS backup from existing MCS cluster on the new one.

2. Use Prime Collaboration deployment ( PCD ) to migrate the existing 8.x cluster on MCS to the 10.x version on UCS
