Greetings!
Recently we finished installing our CuCM upgrade to 8.5 as well as unity connection 8.5. One of the main questions that have come up now, because this is a bastardized version of Linux, is are the regular security patches for the OS the same way windows does the monthly patches? Or are these just rolled into the next OS/CuCM/Unity Connection version up, so we would have to perform an upgrade to say 8.6 if we wanted to install any patches? Sorry, fairly new to the linux structure here, and I'm sure this is an easy answer for you gurus.

You can only install upgrades or SRs from Cisco, they update whatever is needed, the underlying RHEL, and/or the Cisco app.
You cannot install anything else if it's not from Cisco.

Hi Marcus,
Here's the path for 8.5;
Unified Communications Manager / Cisco Unity Connection Updates-8.5(1)SU5 |
When you get to this section;
Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CallManager)
You can choose CUCM 8.5, 8.6, 9.0, 9.1 etc.
Cheers!
