CUCM 8.5 license issues

divine007
Level 1
Level 1

is this: we have a VOIP architechture with CUCM 8.5 with 100 telephones that operate their model is: 7942,7962,7975.
We have 135 additional posts that we want to integrate our solution. These phones have the model
DX650-K9 (5)
7821-K9 (50)
7906G (50)
7975G (10)
7962G (20)

To integrate this solution we buy licenses:

CIS-BES6K UCL-NETHERLANDS (135)
CIS-CON-SESV-UCMUCBAS SWSS SC (135)

Here is our need for support

1- What is the real model of licenses we need to add these new phones?
2- Can we change the licenses we bought for with versions compatible with our CUCM 8.5?

Hi,

for 7821 ----Basic UCL

DX650--- enhanced UCL

7900 series ---Enhanced UCL

I suppose u would have bought DLUs .If that is the case, u can register these IP phones with CUCM 8.5  as well.

Hi,

I got this reference BE6K-UCL-BAS

and CON-SNT-CP7821K9

as to what i wish to install

But am abit confuse if it will work with the cucm 8.5

Hi Ambe,

the part code which u have mentioned is for BE6000.

You need to select CUCM-USR-LIC-ADD for adding user licenses and LIC-CUCM-BASIC-A for Basic users / LIC-CUCM-USR-A for enhanced users [users less than 1000]

You can also get in touch with Cisco SE/AM for more clarity.

regds,
aman

regds,

aman

Hi

Am trying to add 7821 for instance when i go to Device=phone=add new i don't see the type in the list. support give me a tempo license for 12months. see license already added in attached file. after uploading the licenses the device was restarted

The version for my cucm is

admin:show version active
Active Master Version: 8.5.1.10000-26
Active Version Installed Software Options:

Suggest u to upload device pack on one of the server and reboot it.

Before u uplaod Device pack, make a note of existing firmwares /take snapshot under Device ---Device settings---Device defaults so as to avoid upgradation for other IP phone models.

After u upload device pack, check again for device sdefaults and revert the firmware back to original ones and Save it.Now reboot server.

My last question is the uploading

Am using win 7 for the upload any particular way of doing this?

you can refer the  below procedure which is mentioned in relese notes for uploading device pack

http://www.cisco.com/web/software/282074299/121307/cmterm-devicepack8.5.1_18135-1_ReleaseNotes.pdf

Step 1 Using your web browser, log in to the Cisco Unified Communications Operating System Administration web page.

Step 2 From the Software Upgrades menu, select Install/Upgrade.

Step 3 Fill in the appropriate values in the Software Location section and click Next.

Step 4 In the Available Software drop-down box, select the device package file and click Next.

Step 5 Verify that the MD5 has the correct value. Click Next.

Step 6 In the Warning box, verify that you selected the correct firmware and click Install.

Step 7 Check that you received a Success message.

Note Skip to Step 9 if rebooting the cluster

Step 8 Stop and restart the TFTP server.

Step 9 Reset the affected devices to upgrade the devices to the new load.

regds,

aman

you can get the MD5 when u keep mouse on Device pack.
