Hello,
Does anyone know how to get the serial number of the HDD drive to raise RMA with cisco?
Show hardware command doesn't show the serial number of the HDD.
Thanks

Hello,
For all others looking like me, when you run show hardware command you get a field called Inquiry Data, that field contains the Serial Number of the HDD as well. You can send that field to Cisco TAC and raise a case.
For me below the the field value and HDD serial number:
Inquiry Data: IBM-ESXSST93046556S C54396ZZ9SKSE02249569
HDD Serial number - 96ZZ9SKSE
Vital Product Data does give HDD serial numbers.
Thanks
Sakun

If that is a virtual install, you need to get that info via CIMC, if that's not a UCS, try the equivalent of your server manufacturer.
For MCS, not sure if the CIMC equivalent would provide that info, never tried.

Its MCS 7835I3

Hi Sakun,
There are several sub-models of the 7835I3, but based on this documentation I am pretty sure your server would have an IMM module (the equivalent to CIMC that Jamie mentioned).
I don't have any MCS servers of your model to check on, but I did find in the IMM Administration guide, you should be able to find serial numbers of FRU (field replaceable units) components underneath System > Monitors > Vital Product Data.
Try getting in there and let us know how it goes!
