CUCM 9.1 --> SIP --> GoldFax Server

Looking for some direction!

New Fax Server setup with a SIP trunk on CUCM 9.1 w/ SIP trunk to Level3 SIP provider

Outbound is setup and working when we test from the Server and call out.

Can someone give some direction on how to direct the inbound fax calls from Call Manager over the SIP trunk to the fax server?

*I Have setup some SIP phones in the past, but those are devices where the DID's can be assigned etc, nothing like this.  Not sure how to get the calls coming to these specific fax numbers pointed/routed to the SIP trunk/Fax Server.

Update:  Its working now... I had found the post below right after the replies and we went this route, Thanks for great answers from all!

What we do is we point the incomming fax straight from our voice gateways with a SIP VOIP dialpeer straight to the right fax server, much easier to troubleshoot and to control.

for example:

Hi,

1. You need to create SIP trunk pointing to your fax server.

2. Assign the SIP trunk to route group / route list

3. Create a route pattern for the DID of the fax server and assign the route list.

4. Make sure that the partition of the route pattern is accessible from the CSS of the provider SIP trunk

5. Perform whatever digit manipulation needed.

This is a highlevel steps but you need to read more before configuring or outsource it to collaboration engineers.

Hey There,

Once you are done setting up the sip-trunk with correct call-routing i.e (CSS/Partion).

Step 1:

Check if your voice call works. Once verified both ways incoming and outgoing.

Step 2:

Check the Fax-protocol your going to use, example:

T.38 -nse based/protcol based.

Step 3:

Check the call-flow and apply the commands of Fax-protcol eg. T.38.

Step 4:

Make sure you know which Feax-protocol your going  to use.
