Hi
We have CUCM 9.x cluster with unrestricted version and IM&P with restricted version.
Below "Note" from cucm 10.x upgrade guide is confusing, need clarification.
"Note:All nodes within a single cluster must be in the same mode. For example, Cisco Unified Communications
Manager and IM and Presence nodes in the same cluster must either all be in unrestricted mode or all
be in restricted mode."
That means, we have to have CUCM and IM&P both has to be unrestricted?
If CUCM 9.x cluster is unrestricted and IM&P cluster is restricted then it can't work together once we upgrade to 10.x ?

Hi Rajesh,
In 10.x, IM&P servers are subscribers to CUCM. So all of them should either be Restricted or Unrestricted. You cannot mix both.

Hi Nirmal Issac
Do we need any COP file installation on IM&P before upgrading from 9.x Restricted version to 10.5 UNRestricted. Any COP file required for converting from Restricted to UNRestricted?
except :ciscocm.version3-keys.cop.sgn

Hi Rajesh,
There is no cop file needed specifically for Restricted to Un-Restricted.
