CUCM BE upgrade from 7.0 to 8.5(1)

I am trying to find if I can upgrade for CUCM BE 7.0.2.10000-18 to CUCMBE 8.5(1).

The client server is a MCS7828H3-SS1 which is listed in this table as supported but note 3 which applies to this server confuses me

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6790/ps5748/ps378/prod_brochure0900aecd8062a4f9.html

(3) Note that Cisco MCS 7828 supports only Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition 6.0 (new purchase), 7.0 (new purchase or upgrade from Version 6.0 or 7.0) or standalone Cisco Unified Communications Manager 7.0 (for migration from Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition 7.0 only, not for new Cisco Unified Communications Manager purchases).

No mention of CUCMBE 8.0 or 8.5 anywhere in the table but I keep being sent to this page to get compatibility for a upgrade to CMBE 8.x

or this page

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_device_support_tables_list.html

which leads me to the first link.

Does anyone know If I CUCMBE 8.5 or 8.0 is supported on a MCS7828H3-SS1.

Hi there,

You may need to upgrade to 8.0(2) before upgrading to 8.5(1).  I see in the upgrade paths that direct upgrades from 7.0(2) is not supported .

It does show your server as being supported as a upgradeable server but not for a new installation of 8.5(1).  You should be safe as per the support matrix

Justin
