CUCM 11.5 with 8851 phones.
I have been asked if it is possible to create a service or similar to initiate a text.
Use case scenario: Receptionist has an unwelcome visitor etc. Rather than picking up the phone and dailing 911 or other number, we would like a way to discretely push a button on her phone which will then send an email or text with a pre-determined message.
Is this possible with a service button? If not, any third party apps that may work for this application?
Thanks

We've been using a product called SA-Announce from a company called Syn-apps to achieve similar functionality. In our case system send out a canned text message to a group of Cisco phones and as well to an email group.it also allows you to pass the message through to an SMS gateway as well
I believe Cisco emergency responder may have similar functionality too

OK, then you might not be with a Cisco partner, it's a whole demo on how informacast can be used for that purpose from a variety of sources, and to a variety of destinations. This is from a slide and might give you a better idea, if you're interested, you can reach out to your Cisco partner or SE.
