CUCM Device Pack - Cluster Reboot

I'm going to be adding a device pack to CUCM 8.6 to add support for the 8831, with one Pub and one Sub.

Do I need to install the device pack on both and reboot the simultaneously or in order such that:

  1. Install on Pub
  2. Reboot Pub
  3. Install on Sub
  4. Reboot Sub

Install on all servers, then do the cluster reboot.

I feel like I'm missing something that's probably obvious, but isn't what I described a cluster reboot?

1) Install on both Pub and Sub.

2) Then reboot Pub, once its up and running, reboot the sub.

As a side note on Terry's post.  If you want to keep your current firmware loads after the reboot make sure you annotate other devices and what they were using.  Some people prefer to keep their old phone loads while using the new device pack just for the 8831s or whatever other new devices they are installing.

Before rebooting the pub or sub copy the old load name of the phones which you are using in your cluster and also stop the TFTP services so that phones will not take new firmwares.

Hi,

1) install on publisher then reboot the PUB and then try to register the 8831 on PUB itself first if everything gone smoothly then do with subscriber.

Jaspreet

That is most definitely NOT THE WAY to install a device pack
