hi , here is the scenario:

my voice-gateway connected sa E1 line which have 1 phone number only (but it can has 30 calls in the same time)

then the voice gateway connecting to the CUCM v10, and the CUCM has a sip trunk with our skype for business server.

now, we want to assign a extension number to each user, assume the E1 phone number is 123456.

the customer from outside can call 123456 ,then will hear an audio : please dial the extension number.

then the customer dial 2001, then the call to tran to a user who assgin 2001 on skype for business server.

I want to know:

1. if the CUCM can pick the phone and play the audio (such like a pphone operator )?

2. hwo to remove the 123456 and pass the 2001 to skype

thanks~

Hi there

CUC is Cisco Unity Connection. Cisco’s Voicemail solution. You can deploy this on VM and install with the appropriate licenses.

In CUC you can configure call handlers and directory handlers to achieve this

Another option is to use UCCX (Cisco Unified Contact Center Express) Which is Cisco’s IVR and Call Center component. You can create scripts and design your call routing. For eg, Welcoming the callers, provide options Press 1 for X, Press 2 for Y etc. The advantages are more flexibly and report management.

Again both are separate applications which needs to be deployed on Virtual machines with appropriate licenses and integrate with CUCM.

Hope this helps

1) To Play IVR and route call via DIalled extension you need to use the Unity COnnection.
So call flow will be as below

VG-------CUCM--------CUC----playIVR and get Input DIgits&Transfer---------------Destination 2001 over SIP Trunk.
For this to work you need to allow external calls from CUC Server.

thanks for your replied, i would like to know does the CUC is a componet / module of CUCM? or it's a standalone software?

if it's a CUCM's component, how to enable it?

if it's a standalone software, if there has others way to do the same thing? we don't have budget  to buy the CUC license :)

thanks

Hi Ratheesh and Haris,

apologies for hijacking the thread, I am curious about the CUC option, where  I tried many times to accept the 4 digit extensions from CUC, but anyhow, it doesn't give me an option to enter a string of number, I can see only 1 to 12 input options. And finally, I end up with using UCCE/UCCX to accept the extension?.

@ Original thread owner - you may explore the TCL scripting to achieve your goal if you don't have any other UC applications with you other than UCM.  I personally didn't work much on TCL, but i think it may be an alternate solution for you. Further, read up - https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios/12_2/voice/configuration/guide/fvvfax_c/vvfivr.pdf
