Hello,
I have created a cluster of CUCMs and 2 CUCM IM and Presence servers. Everything is based on IP address; I do not have any DNS configuration.
But for Jabber and Webex, DNS configuration seems a must.
So, I need to add DNS for CUCM and Presence.
My question is, what are the recommended steps that I have to follow to change the name of the servers from IP to DNS?
Is there any consideration regarding, phone registration, Database replication, or etc.

Dear Manish,
Thank you for your support +5
To minimize the risk, can I change one of the subscribers first and then change the remaining servers?
In this case I should be able to ping from my PC the following name
Cucm03.local

Hi,
Changing it on subscriber first should not be an issue , but it would be ideal to have all servers either defined by hostname or IP address, rather than a mix of both.

Thank you and +5
Actually, I have two concerns. The first one is easy to handle or fix, which is DHCP configuration for Voice VLANs. I'm not sure if the DHCP administrator added the DNS IP addresses to Voice VLANs DHCP Scopes.
The second concern is ITL files. if I change the name of the server from IP to Hostname. in this case do I need to worry about ITL files?

Hi,
Please follow the procedure mentioned in the "Initial Trust List and Certificate Regeneration" section of the following link

Thank you Manish,
I really appreciate your support.
When I logged in to CUCM OS admin>> Settings>> IP >> Ethernet; I found the settings:
Hostname and IP address are OK, I’m OK with these settings.
My question is: CUCM Administration>> System >> Servers.
Shall I change the hostnames to IP addresses, to make jabber work properly? Or all what I need to add records in DNS server?

Hi,
Please check "Table 3 lists all of the places that need to specify the server name as it appears in the certificate, whether it is an IP address or a FQDN." of the following link

Hi Manish,
Almost I have solved the issues that I have, but I have now one issue, which is how to handle domain.local and domain.com for expressway edge?
Usually, the servers inside hav dns suffix as domain.local while expressway edge will be doamin.com.
So how I can configure Jabber to handle this issue?
