CUCM, IM&P upgrade from 9.x to 10.x - issue

Hi

We have CUCM 9.1 and IM&P 9.1

We have upgraded CUCM cluster from 9.1 to 10.5 successfully.

We are facing issue of IM&P can't upgrade from 9.x to 10.x once CUCM is running 10.5.

Error:

ERROR: The active version of the CUCM Publisher 10.5.2.11900-3|<LVL::Info>
 is incompatible with IM and Presence 9.1. IM and Presence|<LVL::Info>
 cannot continue to run 9.1.1.41900-1 following a refresh upgrade|<LVL::Info>
 unless the CUCM Publisher is switched back to 9.1.2.11900-12.|<LVL::Info>   

Please correct the CUCM version before proceeding with another upgrade.|<LVL::Info>
 Alternatively, please select the option to switch versions and reboot|<LVL::Info>
 to IM and Presence 10.5.2.21900-4 upon successful upgrade.|<LVL::Info>
|********************************************************************************|<LVL::Info>

We can not go back to CUCM version 9.1

Pls. any suggest, Can we do fresh installation of IM&P

Is there any issues, if we do fresh installation of IM&P with same IP address?

 

Pls. suggest correct procedure, is below method is correct?

1.CUCM is running 10.5

2.Switch version of CUCM publisher back to 9.1

3.Switch version of CUCM sub back to 9.1

4.Upgrade IM&P Pub from 9.1 to 10.5 - Switch version to 10.5 (Still keep CUCM to 9.1)

5.Upgrade IM&P Sub from 9.1 to 10.5 - Switch version to 10.5 (Still keep CUCM to 9.1)

6.Switch CUCM version from 9.1 to 10.5 (Start with Pub and then Sub)

 

Pls. suggest any data loss, if we switch back of CUCM to 9.1 for IM&P installation, then switch version of CUCM to 10.5?

IM&P direct upgrade is possible from 9.1 and the procedure you have followed looks fine, can you try on the upgrade again in IM&P server with the option of switch version ? It is expected to switch version at the end of upgrade and will reboot. Following that procedure should overcome this issue.

Any changes made in CUCM 10.x won't be available in CUCM 9.X.
