CUCM not updating gateway router

I am just starting to learn CUCM and following the new Cisco CCNA Voice Lab Manual.  When I go into CUCM 8.6-> Device -< Gateway - > 2851 Router -> FXO 0/3/1 and I set Rings to 6, click save and then apply, the answer rings never change to 6.  It still says 2.  Also, when I change the

My router is a 2851 with 2 FXO ports. Port 0/3/0 is shutdown because I only have one telco line.  Here is the info from my router:

Any idea why when i apply the above config from CUCM to my 2851 nothing changes?

Hi,

I think you need to add folloing command

mgcp bind control source-interface fastethernet XX

mgcp bind media source-interface fastethernet XX

Works, kind of.  When I do the mgcp bind control source-interface gii0/1.110 it makes the changes right away.  However, when I make another change in CUCM, it does not take until I run that command again.

Hi Michael

Once you have applied the changes , do you issue a reset command from the CUCM ?

Aditya Gupta

Well... that was not in the lab manual but it WORKS!!!! Thanks.  You would think that when you apply the change via CUCM it would do the reset if required.  Come on Cisco... get it together!

Thanks for your help.
