CUCM over VPN

Currently running CUCM 11.5 on VMware server on location A with 10.1.1.x/24 phone network vlan. Everything works great.

We added additional location (location B, different public IP) and installed additional firewall at that location with 10.1.2.x/24 phone network vlan.

We have configured low security VPN between two locations however new location phone network 10.1.2.x is not yet configured on CUCM.

What is needed to be done on location A's CUCM to add/configure additional location B, phone network 10.1.2.x?

Please provide steps if possible.

Hi,

You need to define the scope of your requirements. I suggest to hire a voip
engineer to do this.

Onnet/offnet dialing, extension mobility, dialplan, teho, etc.

UC (CUCM/VOIP) over VPN may not be the optimal experience. I've only seen clients use this as a backup/fallback method if primary links (MPLS, Fiber, OC3, etc...) go down. Depending on the size of the site you may run into quality/registration issues.

Your network/VPN setup at site B needs to communicate with site A and the Voice-VLAN/CUCM network/subnet. Where is your DHCP located? It will need to be configured to provide Voice VLAN IP addresses and have at least option 150 set to point at CUCM(s) running your TFTP services.

There is probably more to configure depending on where your PSTN circuits are located (site A/site B has dedicated circuits) and so forth. As @Mohammed al Baqari mentioned you may be better off looking to hire a Cisco Unified Communications Engineer to assist with this rollout.

The site is small and all main services including DHCP located on the central site A.

Site B does communicate with site A and voice vlan network.

This is exactly what my question is about. What steps from configuration perspective need to be taken to accomplish this part?

The phones at site B need to register with site A, CUCM.
