Hello,
I believe CUCM SIP OPTIONS trunk monitoring was added in CUCM 8.5 (it's beyond me why it wasn't implemented in much earlier CUCM releases).
Does anyone know of any way to do this in CUCM 7.1(5) where CUCM SIP OPTIONS is not supported? If one SIP gateway dies, how do I failover to another SIP gateway? When I bring down SIP gateway 1, CUCM doesn't try SIP gateway 2, which is second in the route list.
Doing this on CUBE is easy with voice-class sip options-keepalive, but I would like to do this on CUCM too.

Hi Roman,
Pre-8.5 the only options are tweaking SIP timers. Check out the following: https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3382637#3382637

I tried playing with SIP Profile timers, but they don't appear to trigger CUCM to try another SIP gateway. I tried changing Timer Invite Expires to 3 seconds and Retry INVITE to 1. This "should" fail over to another gateway in 6 seconds, but it doesn't. Also, it says "Parameters used in Phone" at the beginning of that configuration section, so I'm not even sure if it applies to gateways.

Roman, I'm pretty much stuck where you were some time ago.
Did you eventually manage to tune the timers for trunk failover?
