Can anyone provide me if anythe prerequisties to be known before upgrade and link to download the 10.5.2.

Also will the Unity connection 10.5.1 will work with 10.5.2 CUCM ?

Thanks

Hi Sathya,

1. Link to download CUCM 10.5.2:

https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=285963825&softwareid=282074295&release=10.5(2)SU3a&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest

2. CUC compatibility with CUCM:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/compatibility/matrix/b_cucclientmtx.html#id_24435

10.5.1 CUC should be compatible with 10.5.2

3. Refer to the 10.5.2 release me notes for pre-requisites:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/rel_notes/10_5_2/CUCM_BK_C6A7E384_00_cucm-release-notes-1052/CUCM_BK_C6A7E384_00_cucm-release-notes-1052_chapter_01.html

Adding to what Aseem informed, you would also need to install the latest Device Package after upgrading to 10.5(2) as it does not natively support 8821 phone model.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/compat/matrix/CMDP_BK_CCBDA741_00_cucm-device-package-compatibility-matrix/CMDP_BK_CCBDA741_00_cucm-device-package-compatibility-matrix_chapter_00.html#CMDP_RF_C2DC6BBD_00

DP will need to installed on all the CM servers in the cluster followed by the reboot.

Deepak

Thanks, Have few more doubts.

I can see the file is nearly 4GB , is it like a new install over 10.5.1 or I am seeing a wrong file for this upgrade ?

Is it be be upgraded PUB then SUB ?

Thanks

Sathya

Hi,

You will first upgrade the pub and then sub as mentioned in the document link I sent. The iso files for CUOM are big, you have the correct file. Can you send the name of the file so that I can confirm?

For any upgrade, you need to do your due diligence, and read the upgrade guide, and the release notes. On your cases, particular attention to the RNs as it's a minor upgrade.

Depending on the exact version of CUCM that you will upgrade to, you might have native support for the 8821, OR, you might need to install the latest DevPack to add support to it.

If you have IM&P in your deployment, you'll also have to upgrade to 10.5(2)

Thanks Aseem, This is the link which I am referring to

https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=285963825&flowid=77896&softwareid=282074295&release=10.5(2)SU3a&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest

Thanks Jaime, I have gone through the upgrade guide before posting my doubts.

Upgrade guide got details on upgrading to the major version but my doubt was to upgrade from 10.5.1 to 10.5.2 which I am bit confused. If anyone got the procedure please share with me.

Thanks

Sathya

The basic procedure for any upgrade is the same, whether it's a major or a minor upgrade, the difference is if you need to do something else, like change the vNIC, vRAM, etc. or install any special COP files before the actual procedure.
