CUCM v 8.6 cluster

Dears,

Now i am instalting cucm cluster v8.6.2.

i installed the publisher and hostname CUCM-Pub the i changed the hostname in GUi to the cucm ip addressn(10.10.10.10).

now i am installing the subscriber and asked me about the first node

Hostname: CUCM-Pub

Ip : 10.10.10.10

sec password: .......

then subscriber check the publisher but it cant see the publisher.

Please advise ASAP.

Please restart the Publisher server after hostname change.

thanks for your support.

I restarted the pulisher but the same issue.

i need to add note:

i add the dns and domain name during the installation of pub and sub.

but the domain name and domain ip now down (we didnt implement the domain yet).

this can affect the validation betwwen the pub and sub during the installation or not.

Please advise.

Hi,

If your DNS is down and u are adding, the installation won't succeed.

Server would look for DNS/NTP servers. They should be reachable.

Please refer the link for Change of hostname in Publisher.

it gave me the following error

configure version 8.6 dosn't match the version at 10.10.10.10 (Publisher ip address)

the publisher was 8.5 then i upgraded it 8.6.2 then i make a fresh installation to the sub with the same media (8.6.2)

any advise

What u saying is that u had Call Manager version 8.5 which was having hostname CUCM-PUb? You upgraded CUCM to 8.6.2 .Did u restore the backup on Pub?

Now u are trying to add new subscriber  on version 8.6.2 Is it so?

what is your active partition, is it 8.6.2 or 8.5 ? the active partition should be 8.6.2

Hi ,

As u have said that DNS servers are not configured in setup.This means earlier DNS was working because PUB was working and the installation of PUB got completed.

Can  u remove DNS entries from the PUB and then,try adding SUB in PUB?

use command to make primary and secondary dns server as 0.0.0.0

set network dns  primary 0.0.0.0

set network dns secondary 0.0.0.0
