CUCME in SRST Mode- Internal dialing not working when phones are in SRST

CUCME in SRST Mode-

Cisco IP Phones if they lose their connection to a remote Primary CUCM  which can occur if the WAN connection to the main site is down.Phones are in SRST mode. As soon as phones are in SRST mode, they cant dial internal dialing by last 4 digitis of the extension.

For EG:

DN's are created in the range of 80801XXX

When phones are in SRST, user trying dialing last 4 digit as 1XXX to reach extension # 80801XXX which is not working. please let me know if you require any further info on this.

Hi Karthikeyan,

Any dial peers configured? And Translation rules?

Kind Regards

Below dial-peers has been configured for the incoming calls to go to phone's ,while phones are registered to CUCM.

The problem here is when phones are in SRST mode, internal calling between phones doesnt work.

dial-peer voice 2 voip

description Connection For CCMSUB

destination-pattern 8080....

session target ipv4:10.242.0.51

incoming called-number .

voice-class codec 1

voice-class h323 1

dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric

no vad

!

dial-peer voice 3 voip

description Connection For CCMSUB

preference 1

destination-pattern 8080....

session target ipv4:10.242.0.50

incoming called-number .

voice-class codec 1

voice-class h323 1

dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric

no vad

Actual DN's are configured in the range of 80801XXX & 80803XXX , we've translation pattern in CUCM to translate calling number from 1XXX & 3XXX to 80801XXX & 80803XXX.

Whenever the phones are in SRST, the user are not able to make internal calls using 1XXX  & 3XXX.

You must then to create a Voice translation rule in the GW:

Like:

voice translation-rule 1

rule 1 /\( ^1...$\)/ /8080\1/

rule 2 /\(^3...$\)/ /8080\1/

voice translation-profile TransSRST

translate called 1

And aply to a dial-peer:

dial-peer voice 902 voip

description SRST

translation-profile outgoing TransSRST

destination-pattern .T

session target ipv4:X.X.X.X

You can use test translation-rule 1 XXXX  (f.e 3111) to check if the translation works correcty.

Regards!

Daniel M.

If am applying the above dial peers, which wil disturb the inbound calls coming into router,  when the phones are registered with Call manager.

It will conflicts with below dial peers.

dial-peer voice 2 voip

description Connection For CCMSUB

destination-pattern 8080....

session target ipv4:10.242.0.51

incoming called-number .

voice-class codec 1

voice-class h323 1

dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric

no vad

!

dial-peer voice 3 voip

description Connection For CCMSUB

preference 1

destination-pattern 8080....

session target ipv4:10.242.0.50

incoming called-number .

voice-class codec 1

voice-class h323 1

dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric

DN's - 80801XXX & 80803XXX range

If you dont want to use translation rules then you can use number expansion..

conf t

num-exp 1... 80801...

num-exp 3... 80803...

Karth,

Try to think that SRST is a survivable mode, so he can't reach the Translation patterns from CUCM so u must or use num-exp or Translation rules in a Internal dial-peer to this works.

Daniel,

I have created num-exp in router but it didnt worked when phones are in sRST

Can you please send the output of

show ephone registered

then do a test call and send debug voip ccapi inout
