CUCME Licensing Question

Hi

Can any one explain to me, why should we pay 3 times to add one Phone to CUCME:

  1. System License (FL-CME)
  2. Phone License ()
  3. Cisco IP Phone itself

I can understand and convince the customer of 1 and 3, but still, cannot understand or convince him why he has to pay again for SW-CCME-UL-XXXX with this big amount of money per phone.

If it is RTU license, does it mean I cannot buy it and still the solution considered as workable? sometimes when we propose in tenders and\or competing against other vendors (i.e. Avaya), those license -if removed- will assure a much lower cost on the total value

The Question is: is SW-CCME-UL-XXXX license is a must to purchase or not?

Thanks for any one's help

Hi Adham,

As my friend Aman noted (+5), this is a "legal" commitment but it

is based on the "honor" system so technically speaking everything

will work without these licenses.

Cheers!

Hi Aman

We are losing against other vendors because of the huge amount we offer for the liceneses, if I did not buy them, will we still get a technically workable solution ?

Thank you

Adham
