CUCME on ISR

Hi there,

for purchasing a ISR4431-V/K9 solution for 100 users (IP Phones) to work as a CME, by default this device comes with CUBE-25 (SIP-SIP) license.

Q1: Is it needed to add FL-CUBEE sessions for as many users as you have? I.e. in the case for 100 users, is it needed to add 3 x FL-CUBEE-25 on top of the base configuration?

Q2:  For 100 users, it is needed to add 100 x CME-UL (user license)?

Q3: For 100 x 7811 phones licenses, is the step on Q2 enough or they must be purchased separately?

Thanks!

Q2:  For 100 users, it is needed to add 100 x CME-UL (user license)?

Yes, you need to license all CME users

Q3: For 100 x 7811 phones licenses, is the step on Q2 enough or they must be purchased separately?

Yes, user licenses assume phone ownership

Hi,

Both CUBE licenses are CME licenses are honor based and its a paper license. No need to install anything in CME but you have to keep it to get support for the product.

More info on different licenses can be found in below link:

Re: CUCME on ISR

This is the legacy way of licensing. There is this page that says "Customers are encouraged to migrate to the current Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express (CME) Smart Licensing offer, by ordering a CME-UL license for each configured device.". This makes one understand that for 100 IP Phones it is required to have 100xCME-UL licenses. I just needed to confirm this?

Re: CUCME on ISR

CUBE licenses are for concurrent external calls to/from SIP trunk(s), this is typically significantly lower from number of users/phones as in typical environments not all users are on external calls at the same time.  Normally you just match this to what you ordered from the SIP provider.

Re: CUCME on ISR

Hey Chris, thanks for the comment. I read that most go with 1:5 ratio for new installations, hence order the circuit from the SIP provider.
Could you please give some insight about Q2/3?

Thanks!
